The Ball State cross country team ended its 2011 season with a 24th-place finish at the 2011 NCAA Great Lakes Region Championships Saturday afternoon.

The Ball State cross country team will be travelling to Toledo, Ohio, on Saturday to compete in the Great Lakes Regional at Ottawa Park.

With three runners in the top 40, the cross country team place eighth among 12 teams at the 2011 MAC Cross Country Championships at the Muncie Elks Country Club.

Behind a fifth-place finish from junior MaryKate Mellen, the Ball State cross country team placed second among five teams at the 2011 Ball State Invitational.

The Ball State cross country team had all seven runners finish with career-best times Saturday in the 5K Women's Gold Race at the Greater Louisville Classic.
